Rajiv Menon Contemporary presents LIKE SHARE SUBSCRIBE, a group exhibition of emerging artists who speak to a cultural moment defined by social media, influencers and digital visibility. The exhibition examines how online platforms shape popular culture, identity, and modes of representation, featuring artists who demonstrate new directions in figurative and pop art.
LIKE SHARE SUBSCRIBE is presented in two sections. The first focuses on figurative painting that reimagine how people can be depicted in an age of endless scrolling. This section features Ahsan Javaid, Ahsan Memon, Komail Aijazuddin, Shivy Galtere, and Tarini Sethi.
The second section features artists who work with unconventional materials to highlight materiality in an era of online ephemera. The section features Maria Qamar, Navinder Nangla, Preetika Rajgariah, and Viraj Khanna; artists who reimagine a world of screens through mixed media, textile, and street art.
In LIKE SHARE SUBSCRIBE, Viraj Khanna'sintricately embroidered textile works draw on the language and materials of the fashion industry to translate digital life; depicting everyday moments captured on Instagram in rich, tactile works.
